AI assistant coming to Diia app
May 20, 2025
The Diia app will soon feature an AI assistant to help Ukrainians navigate government services. Beta testing of this new functionality is expected to begin in June 2025, with a full launch planned within the year.
AI Will Suggest Relevant Services
The new digital agent will allow users to describe their situation in free form, after which the assistant will suggest relevant government services. For example, when reporting the birth of a child, the system will automatically recommend the necessary steps — from registration to applying for financial support.
In the future, voice interaction, automatic certificate submission, and full 24/7 digital support will be added to the assistant’s capabilities.
ChatGPT Integration and International Recognition
Back in 2023, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the team was working with Microsoft to integrate ChatGPT into Diia. Now those ideas are becoming a practical reality.
In May 2025, Ukraine became the first country to sign an international agreement on artificial intelligence — the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention. The document establishes global ethical standards for AI use based on human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
