On-Chain Radar in Telegram
October 16, 2026
Most traders learn about a memecoin pump or a major whale exiting a token from charts, when it is already too late to act. At the same time, the market provides all hints in real-time: every transaction on the blockchain is public.
To spot these footprints before others, you don't need to purchase expensive subscriptions to analytics platforms or learn Python. It is enough to set up your own automated notifier that monitors whale wallets and sends alerts straight to Telegram.
The Logic Behind On-Chain Monitoring
For automation to run smoothly, you need to understand its basic architecture. The entire system is built on three simple elements: a data source, a processing workflow, and a notification channel.
The data source is a Webhook provided by an on-chain provider (such as Alchemy or QuickNode). This is an automated notification sent by a blockchain node whenever an action occurs at a specified address. Instead of constantly polling the network ("are there new transactions?"), we simply wait for the signal.
The control center is n8n — a No-Code automation platform. It receives this Webhook, extracts key parameters (transfer amount, direction, transaction hash, token symbol), and filters out the noise. If a transaction meets your criteria, n8n formats a clean message and sends it via a Telegram bot directly to your private chat.
Security and Access Restrictions
The golden rule when working with any Web3 automation is permission segregation. In this setup, we do not use wallet seed phrases or exchange API keys with trading or withdrawal permissions at all.
Setting up the system requires only two public elements: the public wallet address you want to monitor, and a Telegram bot token. The bot token only grants permission to send text messages to your chat and has zero access to your funds.
If you decide to expand the scenario in the future to execute automated trades following a whale, use a separate dedicated wallet with a minimal balance and create API keys strictly with Withdrawal Disabled and bound to your server's static IP address.
Setting Up the No-Code Workflow
Building your custom radar takes about 15 minutes and consists of four simple steps:
- Telegram Bot Creation. Generate a new bot via BotFather in Telegram and obtain its API token. Save your chat_id.
- Webhook Configuration in Alchemy. Register a free account, navigate to the Notify section, select your target network (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Solana), and specify your list of whale or Smart Money wallet addresses.
- Workflow Setup in n8n. Create a new Workflow and add a Webhook trigger node to accept data from Alchemy. Next, place a Filter node to discard micro-transactions (e.g., transfers under $10,000).
- Formatting and Sending. Add a Telegram node, select the Send Message action, and construct the notification message complete with a Solscan or Etherscan link for rapid analysis.
Common Pitfalls and Risks
The most frequent beginner mistake is attempting to track too many addresses at once without proper filtering. This creates severe information noise, flooding your Telegram with hundreds of minor alerts and causing you to miss critical signals. Set up strict volume thresholds.
The second risk is blind copytrading. Even if your radar catches a major token purchase by Smart Money, it doesn't mean you should immediately buy in. The investor might be hedging a position, executing an arbitrage strategy, or simply making an error. An on-chain alert is a prompt for immediate analysis, not a buy order.
Be mindful of proof-points and phishing tokens as well. Scammers frequently airdrop spam tokens to high-profile wallets to get their contract transactions featured on trackers. Always verify the token's smart contract address before making decisions.
Final Vector
Building your own on-chain radar powered by n8n is the simplest and safest step toward professional automation in Web3. You gain a powerful analytics tool without expensive software subscriptions or risks to your wallet. Start by tracking 3–5 verified Smart Money addresses, apply an amount filter, and leverage actionable speed as your primary edge in the market.
