Kursoff at the Q&A with Glovo Co-founder: How Global Experience Helps Ukrainian Business Grow
June 18, 2025
On June 18, the Kursoff team took part in a Q&A session with Sacha Michaud — the co-founder of one of Europe’s most successful startups, Glovo. The event was organized as part of the Diia.City United initiative, which connects the Ukrainian tech community with international industry leaders.
The event offered an opportunity to hear the story of a company that grew from a local startup into a global business with a €2.3 billion exit and presence in more than 1,800 cities across 23 countries. Sacha Michaud shared personal insights on how Glovo scaled while adapting to diverse markets and how a strong corporate culture helps sustain growth.
Ukraine as a Strategic Market
The discussion paid special attention to Ukraine’s role in Glovo’s global strategy. The company has been operating here since 2018, investing over €120 million in local teams, infrastructure, and technology. For us, as representatives of the fintech sector, it was especially valuable to hear how international companies perceive the potential of the Ukrainian market, even in challenging times.
Entrepreneurship as a Driver of Change
Michaud emphasized that entrepreneurship is not only about profit, but also about impact. As a co-founder of Yellow VC and a member of Endeavor, he shared his thoughts on the importance of communities and partnerships that accelerate innovation and support businesses during crises.
Kursoff’s Perspective
For Kursoff, participation in such events is not only a way to stay informed about trends but also to understand how global business leaders think. We see that Ukraine is increasingly becoming part of the international dialogue, and such initiatives are the platforms where the future of our economy, partnerships, and entrepreneurship is being shaped.
We are grateful to Diia.City United for the opportunity to participate, connect with industry leaders, and be inspired by stories proving that even in times of uncertainty, growth is possible — when there is vision, a strong team, and belief in a shared mission.
