Meet the Hero of the Article
Oleksii, Head of Sales at BoxExchanger, joined the team in 2022 after his experience in fintech and project sales in Ukraine. What drives him most at Box is building a platform that helps companies launch their own crypto exchanges worldwide.
About BoxExchanger: Ukrainian Software for Exchanges
BoxExchanger is a Ukrainian company that develops software for exchange services. Today it operates in more than 15 countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, EU countries). The product was created to provide businesses with ready-made solutions for launching exchanges: modules, a mobile app, KYC/AML integrations, and technical support.
BoxExchanger introduced a local product with high security standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, Bug Bounty) and customized client support.

Interview with the Head of Sales
1. How did the idea of a Ukrainian product come about, when there were already services from the aggressor country on the market? Wasn’t it scary to compete?
BoxExchanger was created to deliver an independent and transparent product, especially against the backdrop of growing doubts about Russian solutions. Ukrainian origin enhances trust, and our service also complies with EU standards — this was crucial.
2. Did you have to “retrain” users who were used to competitors?
Yes, we did. The market was used to minimal UX, hidden fees, and questionable practices. The hardest part was explaining that transparency and compliance are not complications but long-term advantages.
3. Were there any unexpected turns?
We had to quickly adapt to sharp regulatory changes in different countries: promptly adding AML/KYC modules, new API methods, and support for local rules.
4. What decision turned out to be the most successful?
Definitely the launch of the white-label solution with automatic rates, a mobile app, and 24/7 support. It worked even better than we expected: we now have over 250 exchanges based on Box in 15+ countries.
5. When did the idea of expanding beyond Ukraine arise?
After the company’s registration in the UK in November 2022, Box became more active in the EU and other regions. It was a logical next step: the proven software attracted foreign services.
6. How does Box see itself in 2–3 years?
As a global platform: hundreds of exchanges across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Our focus is custodian wallet modules, APIs with major exchanges, and compliance solutions.
7. Was it difficult to start? How did the first exchange partners react?
At first, there was skepticism: “Who are you?” But after demos and test launches, trust grew: security, technical quality, and deployment speed made all the difference.
8. Have you ever refused cooperation due to lack of trust?
Unfortunately, yes. We check compliance with AML/KYC policies, reputation, and technical readiness. If something raises suspicion — we refuse. Reputation in the market is not an empty word for us.
9. Tell us about an unexpected request that changed the product?
Clients insisted on support for major exchange APIs and custodian wallets. This boosted our growth: we added integrations with popular services and the ability to deploy our own nodes in TRC20, ERC20, and other networks.
10. What triggers you the most in the market?
Unreliable and non-transparent practices of exchanges and risks for users. We are changing the industry through transparency, security standards, and responsibility. Our service additionally passed an independent audit and received a Security Rating A — Excellent.
11. What decision would you definitely not repeat?
We would not start without customized modules for partners. Now this is already a must-have, and this is a decision we definitely would not repeat with new clients.
12. Who in your team is the “voice of reason”?
Definitely our CTO: he stops risky technical ideas and promotes only tested, safe solutions.
13. What would you say to those who just opened Box?
You made the right choice. BoxExchanger is not just a script, but a platform with support, compliance, and scalability.
Conclusion
BoxExchanger is not just technology. Our bet is on transparency as a competitive advantage. We are scaling the network of exchanges in Europe, Asia, and other regions, combining white-label, custodian modules, APIs with major exchanges, and strict compliance.
The goal is simple: make the launch and development of an exchange fast, secure, and predictable.
