Standard Chartered predicts XRP to hit $12.50 by 2028
April 09, 2025
Investment bank Standard Chartered has forecasted that the price of XRP could reach $12.50 by the end of 2028. The report comes via CoinDesk, citing the bank’s analysts.
In the medium term, experts expect XRP to climb to $5.50 by the end of 2025, hit $8 in 2026, and reach $10.40 in 2027. According to the report, XRP holds a strategic position within the digital asset ecosystem, particularly in the field of cross-border payments.
Political Impact and SEC Outlook
The report also highlights that XRP surged sixfold following Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election.
Analysts believe this reflects market expectations that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could withdraw its appeal in the case against Ripple. Additionally, the potential approval of a spot ETF based on XRP is seen as another powerful growth catalyst.
XRP-Based ETF and Government Support
It was also reported that Teucrium Investment Advisors LLC is planning to launch the first U.S.-based exchange-traded fund (ETF) backed by XRP.
In early March 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the inclusion of XRP in the country’s strategic crypto reserve, further boosting institutional trust in the asset.
At the time of writing, XRP is trading around $1.95.
