Trustee Plus stops registering users in Ukraine
May 20, 2025
The cryptocurrency wallet Trustee Plus has announced the suspension of new user registrations from Ukraine. Starting May 20, 2025, the service is no longer available to residents of the country.
Reason — Regulatory Uncertainty
Trustee Plus stated they are postponing their entry into the Ukrainian market due to the lack of legal clarity:
«We have officially decided to suspend our exploration of the Ukrainian market and delay expansion plans. There are many reasons, but the main one is regulatory uncertainty,» the team noted.
This decision does not affect existing users and Ukrainians permanently residing in the EU. For them, access to services remains unchanged, except for the payment card — a joint product of Trustee Plus and Quicko.
Focus on the European Market
Founder and CEO Vadym Grusha had previously announced the company’s intention to focus on the European market, where clear regulations already exist. The businessman expressed disappointment with the pace of legislation regarding virtual assets in Ukraine:
«Every day without the law is another day outside global innovation,» Grusha emphasized.
Recall that on May 12, the Office of the President of Ukraine blocked the review of the cryptocurrency regulation bill. According to MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, the decision was lobbied by the head of the NSSMC, Ruslan Magomedov.
