Tron DAO changes oracle provider
October 31, 2024
The decentralized autonomous organization Tron announced a change in oracle provider for its blockchain. In a press release, Tron DAO confirmed that it will cease support for WinkLink, the previous oracle provider, and transition to using Chainlink Data Feeds.
Transition to Chainlink
The Tron decentralized finance ecosystem, which includes applications JustLend and JustStable with over $6.5 billion in locked assets, will use Chainlink's oracle data. This will enhance the accuracy and reliability of price data, which is critically important for DeFi operations.
Ecosystem development
The announcement stated that Tron’s participation in the Chainlink Scale program will contribute to faster growth and expansion of the ecosystem. As part of this integration, Tron will temporarily cover the operational costs associated with the Chainlink oracle network, specifically gas fees.
In the future, these costs are expected to be transferred to subscription fees for decentralized applications.
Opinions from representatives on the collaboration
The Head of Blockchain Partnerships at Chainlink Labs stated that Chainlink will enable developers in the Tron ecosystem to build efficient DeFi solutions and contribute to the development of the decentralized internet.
A representative from the Tron DAO community expressed a similar view, highlighting the goal of accelerating the development of the Tron DeFi economy through the partnership with Chainlink.
