Tether, Kraken, and Fabric Ventures Open a New Era of Digital Assets
November 18, 2024
Quantoz Payments, in collaboration with major players like Kraken, Tether, and Fabric Ventures, introduces new stablecoins — EURQ and USDQ.
The new assets are fully backed by fiat reserves at a 1:1 ratio, with an additional 2% reserve managed by Quantoz.
The MiCA regulation requires stablecoin issuers to hold 60% of their reserves in European banks, enhancing transparency and protecting users. The CEO of Tether expressed concerns that such a requirement could create "systemic vulnerabilities" for financial institutions, especially if banks face instability.
Release Dates
On November 18, EURQ and USDQ will be issued as EMT under a license from the Dutch Central Bank. On November 21, Kraken and Bitfinex will begin their distribution, providing access to users across Europe.
