Tether CEO announces new stablecoin era

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether — the issuer of the USDT stablecoin — has declared the beginning of a new era he calls the «multiverse of stablecoins.»
According to him, hundreds of companies and governments have already launched or are preparing to launch their own stablecoins. At the same time, the number of USDT users worldwide has surpassed 400 million. «Soon it will be 1 billion,» the Tether CEO added.
«We have always focused on real-world adoption, working directly on the ground, among the people, while traditional financial institutions watched us from their ‘ivory towers,’» Ardoino stated.
Focus on RWA, AI, and Education
Previously, Ardoino said that Tether had «been through hell» due to close scrutiny from U.S. authorities. Speaking at the Cantor Fitzgerald Global Technology Conference in March, he also outlined the company’s strategic focus for 2025.
Tether will concentrate on three key areas: tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), educational initiatives, and the integration of artificial intelligence solutions.
