Japan will see the launch of its first cryptocurrency-backed credit card following the completion of a deal between Slash Vision Labs and an unnamed Japanese credit card issuer. This move opens new opportunities for integrating cryptocurrencies into everyday life. The company is also actively working on incorporating Japanese intellectual property into the Web3 ecosystem.

Features and prospects of the innovation

While details about the upcoming Slash Card are still limited, the company has revealed partnerships with SoftBank Payment and LifeCard (a Visa partner). According to information on the Slash Payment website, the current payment system supports "almost any cryptocurrency" and operates on 10 blockchains.

The new card is expected to become a vital tool for global and Japanese crypto projects, offering unique features such as a "Pay-to-Earn" model. The card’s release is planned for 2025 and will comply with all Japanese cryptocurrency and payment regulations.

Additional initiatives by Slash Vision Labs

Slash Vision Labs, based in the British Virgin Islands, also supports other innovative projects, including Chiitan Coin (CTAN). This cryptocurrency, inspired by the unofficial mascot of Japan's Kochi Prefecture, was launched in June 2023. It is used for marketing and operational tasks, promoting the adoption of digital assets in the region.
