Peter Todd hiding for security
October 23, 2024
A true information storm has erupted around the name Peter Todd. The Canadian developer, who was named Satoshi Nakamoto in the documentary "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery," is now forced to live in fear.
Numerous harassments
After the film aired, the developer began receiving a multitude of strange messages. One stood out in particular: a person sent 25 emails in two days, asking for help with a loan payment. This only highlights how attention to his persona can have dangerous consequences.
Evidence and denials
However, Todd attempted to prove his disconnection from the legendary figure Nakamoto in an interview with WIRED. He showcased photos from events that coincided with Satoshi's posts on the BitcoinTalk forum.
Hiding in the shadows
As Peter himself admits, his main reason for hiding is the potential threats to his personal safety. In a world where anonymity and personal data are becoming increasingly vulnerable, he prefers to remain out of the spotlight.
