World Liberty Financial has reported that Lara and Tiffany Trump's accounts on the social network X have been hacked. Hackers used their accounts to publish fraudulent messages aimed at promoting a fake cryptocurrency token.

The hackers from the official accounts maintained an asset allegedly linked to World Liberty Financial, a new crypto project recently promoted by the Trump family.

Hack details

The attackers published a specific blockchain address and token name, urging followers to invest in the "only official" asset of World Liberty Financial. Lara Trump's profile stated that the goal of the project was to use the WLFI token to support the DeFi lending protocol.

World Liberty Financial warns users not to click on suspicious links or buy tokens distributed through compromised profiles. They assured that they are working to resolve the issue and urged the public to be vigilant to avoid fraud. The company also duplicated this warning on its Telegram channel.

World Liberty Financial platform

The Trump family actively supports the World Liberty Financial platform, which has recently been rebranded as The DeFiant Ones. Former President Donald Trump also promotes the service on social media.

The timing of the hack has attracted the attention of investigators, as the attack occurred just hours after details of the platform's plans became known. According to the report, it is a decentralized finance project focused on loans and lending, with an upcoming token issue called WLFI.
