Soon, Detroit residents will be able to pay taxes and city fees using cryptocurrencies, as part of the city's initiative to modernize and attract blockchain companies.
According to the Detroit Treasury, the new crypto payment options will be available through the secure PayPal payment platform starting mid-2025.
Which cryptocurrencies will be supported?
The statement does not specify which cryptocurrencies will be accepted, but currently, PayPal supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, as well as its own stablecoin, PayPal PYUSD.
