Kursoff at BTC Prague: what is happening in the Bitcoin market now?
June 16, 2026
The Kursoff team attended BTC Prague 2026 – a large Bitcoin conference that took place in Prague on June 11–13. The event took place in parallel with Incrypted Conference in Kyiv, so for Kursoff this week was especially busy: two strong points of contact with the crypto market at once, but with different focuses.

Prague as a point for the Bitcoin community
Prague was a good fit for BTC Prague. The city has its own technical and entrepreneurial culture, and the conference itself looked like a natural part of the European Bitcoin market.

Here, Bitcoin was discussed not as just another asset for speculation, but as infrastructure, a financial instrument and part of a broader culture of self-custody, responsibility and a long-term horizon.
This was the main difference from broader crypto conferences. There was more attention to the basics: how to store BTC, how to build services around it, how Lightning works, what is changing in institutional demand, how to talk about security and why the user should understand not only the price, but also the principles of how the tool works.
When you choose an exchanger, wallet, payment service or crypto card, it is important for you to find a convenient option. But that is not enough. It is important to understand who stands behind the service, how it works, what terms it offers, what reviews it has and whether it can be trusted before creating an order.
The Bitcoin-only format works deeper
The Bitcoin-only format immediately sets a different level of conversation. Participants do not scatter across dozens of trends, but go deeper into the topics that have remained key for the Bitcoin ecosystem for years.
The stages covered adoption, security, energy, financial engineering, institutional adoption, self-custody and sovereignty. Most of the topics are directly related to how Bitcoin is used, stored, integrated into financial models and explained to new users.
The focus on security was especially noticeable. In Bitcoin, it begins with understanding the process: where the funds are stored, who controls the keys, what risks the user takes on, what can go wrong and how not to lose access to assets because of one’s own inattention.
A user often comes with a specific action in mind: to buy BTC, sell BTC, transfer funds, withdraw fiat, find a normal rate and avoid a problematic service. That is why transparency, reputation and clear rules matter so much.
What was discussed at the conference
In Prague, a lot of attention was given to how Bitcoin is moving from a niche environment into a broader financial reality. Institutional adoption sounded not like a distant trend, but like a process that is already affecting infrastructure, products, custody solutions, compliance and work with large capital.
Bitcoin financial engineering was a particularly noticeable topic. The market is gradually looking for models in which BTC becomes not only an asset for storage, but also part of more complex financial structures. For the user, this may feel far from everyday exchange, but these are the processes that shape future demand, liquidity and new services.
Security was also at the center of attention. Operational risks, self-custody, privacy and practical mistakes that can be costly were discussed. In the Bitcoin environment, security always sounds more serious because the user’s responsibility for their own assets is much higher.

Another important direction is energy. Bitcoin mining has long moved beyond the simple question of electricity consumption. It is increasingly discussed through energy infrastructure, grid balancing, the use of excess energy and mining economics.
The most valuable thing is specific conversations
BTC Prague had a strong community part. It was easy to feel that the Bitcoin market is built not only on companies and products, but also on people who have been explaining, teaching, building, debating, testing hypotheses and not chasing every short-term trend for years.
It is in conversations between talks that you can best see what the market is really living by. Some talk about self-custody. Some – about Lightning. Some – about corporate BTC adoption. Some – about how to explain Bitcoin to a beginner without unnecessary complexity. Some – about how to make a financial service safer and more understandable.

For Kursoff, such conversations have practical value. We see how the market is shaping requirements for services: speed is no longer the only advantage, a rate alone does not guarantee trust, and a beautiful website does not replace reputation. If you work with crypto, you need a service that does not create unnecessary risks.
Why this matters for the user
At first glance, a Bitcoin-only conference may seem like an event for developers, investors and convinced Bitcoiners. But its topics directly affect the user who simply wants to buy or exchange BTC.
When the market talks more about self-custody, the user better understands why it is important to control access to their assets. When security is discussed, the quality of tools and services grows. When people talk about adoption, more ways appear to use Bitcoin in real financial scenarios. When infrastructure develops, it becomes easier for you to find a normal path for buying, selling or transferring BTC.
What Kursoff took away from BTC Prague
The Bitcoin-only market has a strong internal logic. It depends less on short-term trends and relies more on infrastructure, security, education, self-custody and long-term vision.
Trust remains the main asset. In the Bitcoin environment, it cannot be replaced by marketing. A service must explain its terms, perform operations steadily, communicate properly and confirm its reputation with actions.
Security has become even more important. The more people and companies work with BTC, the stronger the need grows for clear processes, verified tools and a responsible attitude toward funds.
Infrastructure shapes the user experience. Exchangers, wallets, payment solutions, monitoring platforms, analytical tools and support determine how calmly you can work with Bitcoin.
For Kursoff, BTC Prague became an important part of a busy conference week. In parallel with Ukrainian Web3 in Kyiv, we saw the European Bitcoin market in Prague – more focused, deeper and very attentive to security, self-custody and trust.
And this fits well with what Kursoff does every day: helps you navigate crypto services faster, see reputation, compare terms and choose an exchange without unnecessary risk.
