No exchanges, but drones: how Plan B Forum went in Lugano
October 28, 2025
Our team attended the Plan B Forum in Lugano – one of the most anticipated events of the autumn, dedicated to cryptocurrencies, innovation, and the future of finance. This year the conference had a completely different focus than most similar events, – so we decided to share our impressions.
Despite the scale and status of the event, crypto exchanges were absent: neither Binance, nor Bybit, nor OKX took part this time. Instead, the organizers’ attention was fully captured by solutions in the field of artificial intelligence – especially those related to automation in everyday life. Many examples were presented of using AI for cleaning shopping malls, parks, or offices – with full control and management without human involvement.
Among other topics – new communication solutions: several companies presented early versions of blockchain-based messengers using tokens. Their goal – to ensure the security of correspondence and independence from centralized servers.
A separate segment was devoted to crypto cards and loans secured by digital assets, but most of these services are currently unavailable in Ukraine due to the war. You could also see different types of cold wallets – from classic ones to those integrated into mobile solutions.
About a third of the exhibition was devoted to crypto art. Paintings, sculptures, installations, even toys and interior items inspired by blockchain themes. Special attention was drawn to an initiative to raise funds to install a monument to Satoshi Nakamoto in Lugano – a symbolic gesture for a city that aims to become a European crypto hub.
Among the technical exhibitors, a noticeable share was made up of solutions for developers – AI tools, wallets for websites and apps, and Web3 integration solutions. Interestingly, the organizers paid significant attention to Africa – a market where the banking system remains underdeveloped, so cryptocurrency becomes a real alternative.
In the talks, El Salvador was mentioned repeatedly, being called an “African haven for crypto” due to its liberal legislation. It is there that banking crypto cards and payment solutions are now being actively tested.
The main participants of the forum were companies from Switzerland and Italy, but guests from other countries also came with interest – to see Lugano and enjoy the scenery and atmosphere. The forum ended with a bright drone show – a spectacular finale after intense days of discussions and networking.
