No exchanges, but drones: how Plan B Forum went in Lugano

October 28, 2025

Our team attended the Plan B Forum in Lugano — one of the most anticipated autumn events dedicated to cryptocurrencies, innovation, and the future of finance. This year, the conference had a completely different focus from most similar gatherings — and we decided to share our impressions.

Despite the scale and prestige of the event, crypto exchanges were notably absent: neither Binance, nor Bybit, nor OKX participated this time. Instead, the spotlight went to artificial intelligence solutions — particularly those related to automation in everyday life. Many examples were presented, such as the use of AI for cleaning shopping malls, parks, or offices — all fully controlled and managed without human intervention.

Among other topics were new communication solutions: several companies presented early versions of blockchain-based messengers using tokens. Their goal is to ensure secure correspondence and independence from centralized servers.

A separate segment focused on crypto cards and loans backed by digital assets, though most of these services are currently unavailable in Ukraine due to the war. Visitors could also explore various types of cold wallets — from traditional models to those integrated into mobile solutions.

About a third of the exhibition was devoted to crypto art. Paintings, sculptures, installations, even toys and interior decor inspired by blockchain themes. One notable initiative was a fundraising campaign to install a monument to Satoshi Nakamoto in Lugano — a symbolic gesture for a city striving to become a European crypto hub.

Among the technical exhibitors, there was a strong presence of developer-oriented solutions — AI tools, wallets for websites and applications, and Web3 integration tools. Interestingly, the organizers gave significant attention to Africa — a market where the banking system remains underdeveloped, making cryptocurrency a real alternative.

El Salvador was repeatedly mentioned in the speeches, referred to as “the African haven for crypto” due to its liberal legislation. The country is currently testing crypto banking cards and payment solutions.

The main participants of the forum were companies from Switzerland and Italy, but guests from other countries also came with enthusiasm — to explore Lugano, enjoy the scenery, and experience the atmosphere. The forum concluded with a spectacular drone show — an impressive finale after several intense days of discussions and networking.
