Numerous live streams have appeared on YouTube featuring fake statements from Apple's CEO about cryptocurrency deposits. This occurred during the official presentation of the new generation of Apple devices.

A call to send сryptocurrency

On September 9, a deepfake of Cook urged viewers to send BTC, ETH, USDT, or DOGE to a "contribution address," promising that Apple would return double the amount.

"Once you make your deposit, the system will automatically process it and send back double the amount of cryptocurrency you invested," the fake Cook assured.

This is a typical double-your-money scam that promises to return double the amount of the digital asset sent. In reality, scammers simply take the funds for themselves.

One such fraudulent stream occurred on the Apple US channel, which had an official verification checkmark.

Massive views and account closures

Some videos and user screenshots suggest that these channels garnered hundreds of thousands of views. However, most of them were likely bots aimed at giving the stream an appearance of legitimacy.

The fake videos are now unavailable, and the related accounts have been closed.
