Cybercriminals attacked Truflation platform

The blockchain-based inflation data platform Truflation reported that it had been attacked by malicious software. Analysts estimate the company's losses to be up to $5,2 million.

According to the Truflation team, on September 25, abnormal activity was detected, which was the result of actions taken by the attacker.

Platform's response

Truflation is taking all necessary measures to protect its funds, collaborating with leading industry partners and law enforcement agencies.

The project team is also trying to contact the hacker and is open to negotiations. Moreover, the platform will reward anyone who can help investigate the incident.

Damage assessment

According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, approximately $5,23 million was stolen from Truflation's treasury multisig and personal wallets in Ethereum. Additionally, about $100,000 was lost across seven other blockchain networks.

A separate assessment by Cyvers, a blockchain security firm, revealed that the total losses amount to $4,95 million.

Hack details

The attackers stole $3,89 million in TRUF, $1,07 million in ETH, and $236,000 in DAI from the Ethereum team's wallets.

The Truflation team noted that client funds were not compromised, and staking assets remained intact. The project continues to take measures to mitigate the impact of the incident and to protect its platform in the future.
